My dad used to tease me for talking with my hands, and I realize I can get rather animated when I'm speaking. Leave it to Jerry Jazz and his camera to catch every silly expression I'm capable of producing. Thanks, Jerry! Here's a sampling just for laughs.

What a Blast!
Third Place Books Ravenna rocks! Many thanks to James and Alex, Dana and Haley for supporting and organizing my reading last Thursday. To the brave souls who ventured out between waves of Seattle snow storms last week to attend the reading, I am equally grateful. I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as I did.

Writers, Riders and Snow
Do you ever have those weekends that are so jammed you're left spinning? That was last weekend for me. Here are the highlights...
Saturday a dozen wonderful, energetic writers attended my memoir workshop at Mountlake Terrace Library. I was inspired by their enthusiasm. I need to follow their example and get back to my own work-in-progress. Many thanks to librarian Ruth Griffith for her invitation and arrangements as well as for photos.
Sunday morning my husband and I were up at 5:30 a.m. and off to participate in the Seattle Tunnel Ride, an opportunity to cycle the new tunnel before it opens to traffic and to say goodbye to the viaduct that runs the length of the downtown waterfront. It was bittersweet. I've always loved the view from the viaduct.
It was so very cold at the start but fortunately the snow held off until evening! And then it did it snow...all night. My college closed for the day, and I was as excited as a school kid to have a snow day. It's amazing how much you can accomplish with an unexpected day off. I've been watching hummingbirds for hours.
